CAPT. JOEL DICKEY

Captain Joel Dickey grew up in Blue Ridge and has been a professional guide for the last 25 years. He currently spends half the year in the Florida Keys where he specializes in sight fishing for Tarpon and Permit in the Big Pine Key  area. Joel has guided all over the country, but he considers the tailwaters and small streams of Blue Ridge as his home waters. In addition to being a certified casting instructor through the Federation of Fly Fishers, he’s also on the advisory staff of Thomas and Thomas, Scientific Anglers, Simms and Seigler. Joel has been featured on the cover of several national fly fishing magazines along with being featured in one of the industry’s top selling DVDs “Rise.” Joel is a regular contributor to popular blogs and magazines either through his writing or photography. In his spare time Joel enjoys spending time with his family and tying flies.

REECE PANTER

Reece grew up in Blue Ridge and spent his entire life honing his skills on the fisheries of Fannin County and the surrounding area. He began guiding at the age 15 while still in high school. Reece is considered to be one of the most prolific guides in the area. His patience and knowledge are key to his success and a big reason why he’s just as comfortable guiding advanced anglers or someone brand new to the sport. They’re also the reason so many people come back to fish with him year after year. Reece’s vast experience and knowledge of all of our fisheries – particularly the Toccoa River separate him from almost every other guide in the area. When he’s not guiding, you’ll likely find Reece floating the river, chasing native specks in our high mountain creeks, or in the woods hunting deer and turkeys.
